
On the blow molding line, preform heating is the gatekeeper—if the heating tunnel is running hot or cold, you’re paying for it in uneven wall thickness, flash, and unplanned stoppages. We built a white-coated single-tube IR emitter to drop straight into PET stretch blow molding, replacing standard halogen/quartz emitters and putting you back on the original machine heating profile without reworking the tunnel.
What matters, technically
It’s a short-wave infrared single tube with a white ceramic coating, chosen for stable emissivity and fewer hot spots. The quartz envelope can take the rapid thermal cycling of a production run, and the R7s base is a plug-in fit for the sockets you already have. You can spec 120V or 240V to match your blow molder’s wiring, and pick power densities aligned to what your preform heating actually needs. The coating also drops surface temperature, which helps protect preform surfaces and keeps the tunnel cleaner.
Why it holds up on real machines
This emitter is engineered to match OEM heating parameters for blow molders from Sidel, Krones, SIPA, Husky, SACMI, and Nissei ASB. You keep the same temperature curve across the heating zones, so cycle times stay stable and rejects fall off. Energy use comes down because it heats fast, holds setpoint tightly, and avoids wasteful overshoot. Out in the plant, the payback is fewer lamp changes and less downtime—more consistent throughput and a lower cost per thousand bottles.
The practical details
Installation is straightforward, but the heating tunnel has to be clean and the reflectors in good shape. Oxidation or misalignment will skew results. Double-check voltage, connector type, and dimensional clearance against your machine’s socket and holder. You’ll see a slightly longer warm-up to full output compared with bare quartz, but the trade is more uniform heating and longer service life. If your tunnel uses a different lamp footprint, confirm compatibility before you order.
