That 400V setup also keeps line-side current lower, which eases stress on your electrical bits. But it packs a lot of heat into a small footprint. So your cooling system needs to be up to the task. The tube is quartz, because it responds instantly and handles the shock of rapid on/off cycles without blinking. The halogen fill keeps filament temperature steady, which means repeatable heating—cycle after cycle, thousands of times over. For the electrical connection, we use R7s connectors.
