If you’ve spent any time around high-speed PET blowing, you know the real headache is the heat soak. It’s the classic struggle: if that preform doesn’t hit the right temperature evenly, you’re stuck dealing with thin walls or that annoying pearlescence. It’s frustrating. That’s why we built our infrared lamps to fit the Husky HyPET footprint perfectly. We aren’t interested in just heating the surface. We want the heat to actually get inside the plastic. Getting the heat to stick Standard lamps have a habit of just bouncing off the PET surface. It’s a waste of energy. We fixed that by tweaking the quartz composition and the filament tuning to push out more short-wave IR. Think of it as “punching” through the plastic rather than just warming the outside. We also spec these tubes for high wattage density. When you run a high-voltage setup, you get a tight, intense heat zone. On a HyPET system, speed is everything. You can’t be sitting around waiting for a slow ramp-up. You need it hot, and you need it now. The hardware side of things We use heavy-duty quartz glass because, let’s be honest, these things get hammered by thermal stress. Standard glass bows; ours stays straight. And nobody wants to spend their weekend rewiring an oven. So, we made these drop-in replacements. They slide right into your existing wiring without any fuss. We also spent a lot of time on the contact points. They’re built to handle 24/7 operation without arcing or burning out. A few things to keep in mind Here is the catch: these high-penetration lamps put a lot of pressure on your oven’s ventilation. Because they pump out so much energy to keep those cycle times fast, your cooling blowers have to be spot on. If your airflow is choked or dusty, the lamps will overheat. That’s a quick way to kill your bulbs. Plus, do yourself a favor and check your reflectors every month. A dirty mirror kills all the hard work we put into the lamp’s penetration. Keep them clean, and the heat flux stays exactly where it needs to be.
